National Certificate in Governance of Maori Authorities

GOVERNANCE

Oceania Group Ltd (Oceania) delivers quality governance training for directors, trustees, committees, shareholders or beneficiaries. We are an NZQA accredited Private Training Establishment.

What is Governance?

The directors of a company, trustees of a trust or the management committee of an incorporated society are the governors of an organisation. They are there to act in the best interests of the shareholders and the organisation as a whole and good governance is the mechanism that ensures this is happening. Without sound governance practice, serious difficulties can arise.

As a director or trustee you will want to know that you are fulfilling your obligations and doing the best for your shareholders.

As a shareholder you will want to know that the people representing your interests are prudently and effectively managing your interests.

Oceania Group offers unparalleled education and training programmes with excellent facilitators who are knowledgeable and experienced in their fields.

AUCMAS Maths Programme

AUCMAS is much more than an arithmetic system of learning. The AUCMAS methodology allows children to develop greater self-assurance and self-confidence as they progressively become more proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing multiple sums without the use of aids. This increased self-sufficiency benefits the child’s creativity, their ability to concentrate and absorb information and their ability to comprehend and solve problems.

Statistically New Zealand does not rate highly internationally in maths education so a large percentage of New Zealand children when completing school are unable to consider career options in medicine, engineering, the trades, commerce and other professions because they have not developed a good understanding basic arithmetic.

A strong foundation in mathematics will provide children with greater opportunities in life and provide them the ability and confidence to reach their potential.

The AUCMAS program will be delivered in Auckland and Hamilton commencing March 2007. Other locations throughout New Zealand will be available in April 2007.

At the end of each module, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the core fundamentals of mathematics and arithmetic. This foundation will enable them to grasp more complex mathematical concepts later in their school life.

Cost: $40 per person per week (2 hour session) for 12 weeks.
Participants: All programmes are open to young men and women from the ages of 4-17 years of age.

Please Note: Students are required to attend 12 tutored sessions of two hours per week. To gain the most benefit from the program, attendance at each session is recommended.

Enrolment forms are available now. Click here to download. If you require further information, please contact us on 0800 323 543. Spaces are limited so to avoid disappointment please enroll as soon as possible.
